Wheeler Breaks Ground on the Salmonberry Trail – Join Us July 12

Big things are happening in Wheeler! On Saturday, July 12, from 1:00–5:00 PM, we invite you to Waterfront Park for a community celebration marking the beginning of Wheeler’s section of the Salmonberry Trail.

This “Ground Building” event isn’t just a groundbreaking ceremony—it’s a celebration of what’s to come. With support from the Salmonberry Trail Foundation and the Tillamook Coast Visitors Association, the City of Wheeler is taking its first official steps to bring the trail to life on the coast.

The afternoon will include:
– A ribbon cutting ceremony
– Music, games, and local vendors
– Trail information and updates
– A chance to connect with neighbors and trail supporters

The Salmonberry Trail will eventually stretch more than 80 miles from the Portland area to the Pacific, connecting communities, creating safer transportation options, supporting small businesses, and offering new ways to get outside and explore.
