Roy Fox, Secretary 

Roy is a lifelong Oregonian. Growing up in the southern Oregon town of Roseburg, he developed an early passion for the outdoors and for old, historic things. After moving to Portland following graduate school, Roy and his wife Kim bought a condemned 1880s Victorian farmhouse—and turned it into a fully restored home for their family, including their two sons.

After retiring from Bonneville Power Administration, where he led environmental, asset management, risk, and HR functions, Roy devoted himself to preserving even more old houses. He has volunteered around the world, at several of Portland's public gardens, and with historic preservation organizations, and has served on the boards of Restore Oregon and the Pittock Mansion Society.

When he's not restoring an old house or volunteering, Roy loves to garden, cycle, hike, and simply enjoy the world around him. He and Kim also love to travel together and to host visitors from around the world—and it was one such visitor, a young man from the UK who'd read about the Salmonberry, who convinced Roy to explore the trail. That was all it took: Roy fell in love with the Salmonberry Trail.
