Mike Cafferata, Board Member 

Mike is a native Oregonian, forester, and the District Forester for the Oregon Department of Forestry in Forest Grove. He has worked on the Salmonberry Trail since its inception following the storms of 2007. Mike helped form the Salmonberry Trail Foundation and has been on the Board since its inception.

In his day job, Mike provides wildland fire protection across the region, oversees the management of portions of the Tillamook State Forest, and helps landowners manage their forests. He lives in Hillsboro with his wife, Julie. They have three nearly grown children and 2 dogs. They enjoy backpacking, Timbers soccer, and truffle hunting in Oregon’s forests.
