November Updates

This trail won’t be built by a single person or group. We’ve been busy building new relationships, figuring out what’s most important, and raising money to help us focus our efforts for the next two years and lay a strong foundation for the years to come.

Partnerships

We’re grateful for our growing network of supporters and partners. Recently, we’ve welcomed the following groups to our community:

Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD): The NWRESD is the largest of Oregon’s 19 education service districts, serving students, educators, childcare providers, and families in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook, and Washington counties. This region includes the large urban school districts of Washington County and the smaller rural districts along the Columbia River, the Coastal Range, and the North Oregon coast. The NWRESD regional office is in Hillsboro, about 12 miles west of Portland, with service centers in St. Helens, Astoria, and Tillamook. Within this region, there are 20 school districts with over 98,000 students. NWRESD staff members collaborate with school districts in our four counties to deliver quality, cost-effective programs and services, including special education, technology, professional development, and school improvement. We are excited for the Salmonberry to better serve the community through this initiative relationship!

The City of Garibaldi and the City of Bay City: Both communities passed resolutions of support. The backing of communities along the trail strengthens the movement, creates more opportunities for collaboration, and allows us to focus on action.

Gigantic Brewing and CX Pistols: The CX Pistols, a cyclocross team sponsored by Gigantic Brewing, hosted us at their team happy hour back in September. The excitement for the trail was palpable, and our team left energized by the enthusiasm and support for what we’re working on. After this gathering, the CX Pistols and Gigantic Brewing wanted to take it a step further and signed up to be partners and advocates to help make the vision a reality.

Presentations & Outreach

We genuinely appreciate every opportunity to discuss the Salmonberry—its rich history, promising future, and its role in creating happy, healthy communities. It is inspiring to talk about what we can do today to support this vision and bring it to life. Over the past month, we have presented to groups such as:

Please reach out if you’d like us to present to your organization!

Fundraising Update

It’s no secret that we need funds to build this trail, and with specific segments identified and various stages of work in progress, meeting our fundraising goals is more important than ever!

Capital Campaign Launched
Our Capital Campaign to fund four key projects is officially underway! We aim to raise $5.7 million for the Catalyst Loop, which connects Banks and Stub Stewart State Park, the City of Wheeler Demonstration Project, and the Tillamook Creamery segment. These initiatives emphasize trail construction and restoration, bringing us closer to our vision of a connected and thriving Salmonberry Trail.

Give!Guide – Our Newest Initiative
We’re excited to be included in this year’s
Give!Guide! Your support can truly make a difference—help us raise funds and awareness for the Salmonberry Trail and many other organizations doing vital work by donating! If your business would like to partner with us to promote this initiative and attract Salmonberry supporters to your location, please let Gavin know! Learn more about our Give!Guide efforts here.
