In the Area: Manhattan Beach Walk

Start: Rockaway Beach Trailhead at the Rockaway Beach State Wayside.
Distance: 7.5 miles
Type: Out and Back

The Manhattan Beach walk is an out-and-back adventure that begins on the wide strand of Rockaway Beach. Walking north, you will cross Spring Creek to the quieter Nedonna Beach and to breathtaking views of the Coast Range. As you reach the mouth of the Nehalem, look for harbor seals. South of the jetty wall, McMillan Creek twists through a small tidal estuary where ducks, heron, and egrets should be foraging. At the depression in the wall is Jetty Fishing Marina and RV Park, which is a good place to turn around. Walking south, you will have views of the Twin Rocks to guide you back to the Rockaway Beach Trailhead.
