Alison Graves, Board President

Alison has always had a passion for natural places and an interest in helping things grow. She started her career teaching science and environmental education, helping young people to understand systems and interconnections. Later, she applied systems thinking to startup companies and then nonprofit organizations to improve effectiveness and impact. These days Alison and her husband Jay own and manage a small woodland in Buxton abutting Stub Stewart State Park. They have both been involved with and interested in the Salmonberry Trail since its early days. Alison was an ex-officio member of the Salmonberry Trail Intergovernmental Agency (STIA) during her tenure as Executive Director at Cycle Oregon. She joined the Salmonberry Trail Foundation board in 2022 to help the fledgling organization grow into a strong partner to advance this important project.
